WAKAAN is highlighting their highly successful ‘End Trance’ EP from ZEE (Zebbler Encanti Experience), by releasing a remix collection of it on August 25th. The four-track record came out in 2019, and pushed the finest in audio and visual fusion from the Boston/Valencia based collective. Stepping up to the plate for the remakes are Black Carl!, Fly, David Starfire, Prismatic, Wan, Wessanders and Tahabdra, and it totals 8 tunes, including a fresh original from ZEE.
Fly kicks things off with his take on the title track, and fuses his rhythmically driven, global sound with low rolling bass for a satisfyingly wonky finish, saying: “I've always had so much love for Ben & Zebbler and their art so being able to combine my creative vision with ‘End Trance’ was special for me.”
Black Carl! follows swiftly with ‘Inside The Box,’ and the Birmingham producer delivers bold wubs and expansive builds and adds: “It gets a little "crazy," if ya know what I mean.”
ZEE contributes a stunning cut of their own here with ‘Morphonics,’ switching between chimes, powerhouse chord progressions and rumbles of vocals, before Prismatic brings things back with an atmospheric ‘Trance End’ version that has been a joy to produce; he shares: “Nothing but love for the ZEE guys for letting me remix this absolute banger!”
Global heavyweight David Starfire heads back ‘Inside The Box’ with a hard edit, packed with whistling warps of melody and plunging bass thuds. He reveals: “I'm really stoked about my remix for ZEE. I've been a fan for quite some time and I had a lot of fun remixing this track that also features Mr. Bill.”
China’s Wan comes in with a mesmerizing twist on ‘Trance End,’ featuring snappy builds and precise attention to detail, whilst Berklee College graduate Wassanders propels ‘Outside The Box’ with futuristic energy and impeccable rhythmicality, sharing: “I studied with Encanti in my sophomore year of college, and the things I learned were invaluable. To come full circle and have the opportunity to put my touch on the ZEE sound is heartwarming to say the least. I'm ecstatic about the EP and I hope others will be too. LONG LIVE ZEE!”
The EP is ably closed by electronic duo Tahabdra, who nail a pacy, drum-laden re-lick with flair. “We're honored to present this remix of "Trance End, “originating from some of our favorite people in the universe,” they say. “We retuned all elements of the original track to our tuning system and went for a half-time energy-throbbing heater inspired by ZEE's adventurous sound design and approach to art in general.”
Paying homage to the ZEE classic, the ‘End Trance’ remixes are an essential listen and addition to the ever-growing WAKAAN catalogue.

Absolutely outstanding and inspiring album. Every track combines organic instrumental sounds with glitches and tonally interesting digital and analog sounds.
To me this was one of the best releases of 2021 and in general.
Moonrise's contrast of glitch and piano is just so satisfiying. rhinobetatron
