Boomchakra Absolutely stunning. The amount of texture and movement is amazing, the sound design alone is worth multiple listens; pairing that with a heady hip hop head nod and headbang-worthy deep funk really sends this mixture into the ether. This is the sort of material I half expected Tripp to keep in his sleeves for live stuff, WAKAAN made a great choice in getting this EP signed on their label.

Closely following his debut SSKWAN single ‘Lemonade’ on the 2023 SYNERGY compilation album, the enigma of Tripp St. continues as he steps forward with his newest EP, Gallery of Sound, marking his inaugural release with WAKAAN. Untouched in a lane of his own, the 6-track EP shines as his first full body of work since 2021, exploring a myriad of unconventional freeform bass sounds as his production grows more refined in his craft, riddled with bouncy breakdowns, classic hip hop samples, and a nostalgic funk feeling throughout it all.

First launching the Tripp St. project in early 2020, the rising artist has already gone on to release two full-length albums on CloZee’s Odyzey label, along with joining her for his debut set at the curated mini-festival Voyage, prior to being announced as support on her ‘Neon Jungle’ tour. Staying steady with the momentum, the anonymous act has now made appearances at large scale festivals among the likes of Gem & Jam, WAKAAN Music Festival, Sonic Bloom, GRiZ’s Triple Rainbow, Resonance, Secret Dreams, Electric Zoo, and most recently performing as direct support on Liquid Stranger’s fall 2022 ‘DIMENSIONS’ tour. Slotted for select dates on Daily Bread’s ‘Invisible Cinema’ tour and special guest at Red Rocks Amphitheatre moving into 2023, Tripp St. is poised for upward growth from here.

“The inspiration for the title “Gallery of Sound” comes from the name of the first record store I bought music at when I was younger. They didn’t really enforce the age limits so I was able to get any cds I wanted growing up haha they throw free concerts in the back of the store and really made a cool little community for us while they could. I wanted to pay homage to those good times with this title.” - Tripp St.
