After releasing the lead single “Right Here” this past June, Buku is following up with his anticipated Grey Matter EP on WAKAAN Record Label.

Buku originally made his WAKAAN debut in August 2020 with “What You See,” followed by his full What You See EP one month later in September. Grey Matter marks Buku’s third three-track EP on WAKAAN, succeeding What You See and Scorched Earth in 2020. “My Eyes” commences the enthralling trilogy by sending a rush of dangerous space bass waves through the optic nerve, complete with experimental sequences, mechanical sound designs, and malfunctioned vocals. Brain scans in “Axon” expand on the exhilarating expedition, with both drops laden with cutting beams and rapid drum patterns. “Right Here” concludes the package, evidently exhibiting the Pittsburgh native’s early love of percussion stemming from his childhood.

I found myself utilizing breakbeats, 303 acid inspired synths, long rolling buildups, and a variety of drop timbres in my track ‘My Eyes’ and the Grey Matter EP as a whole.
