In today’s crowded electronic music landscape, it’s no easy feat to discover artists with a truly intriguing sound. That’s why LA-based Champagne Drip is increasingly causing a stir within the rising tide of Freeform bass music, lending an entirely new meaning to the experimental – yet melodic – agenda. Touching down on Liquid Stranger’s renowned WAKAAN imprint for his latest EP Obelisk, Champagne Drip builds on his growing reputation as a remarkable producer.

Obelisk EP embodies WAKAAN’s ‘weird and wonderful’ mantra with immaculate effect, combining flawless sound design with pummelling bass hits and unique synths. There’s nothing run of the mill about Champagne Drip’s signature production style, as Obelisk whirls through four energetic, feisty tracks poised to cause outright mayhem in any setting. It’s not all about the dancefloor appeal though, as Obelisk EP breaks down genre barriers to bridge the gap between gritty bass and melodic artistry.

Having released on Deadbeats and Quality Goods Records in the past, plus official remixes for Bassnectar and Zeds Dead & Diplo, it’s only right that Champagne Drip’s talent continues to be recognised via the mighty WAKAAN.
