Marking his first full-length release in 2023, mainstay act Champagne Drip remigrates to WAKAAN with the reputable Shock Therapy EP. A bookend EP made up of paradoxical tracks “Energy Healing” and “Dream Dog,” the body of work casts light to both sides of the Champagne Drip project. “Energy Healing” composed from an outburst of abrasive basslines methodically space between broad introspective arrangements, “Dream Dog” holds estate as its parallel, swathed in transcendental synthesizers, piquing drum kicks, and velvety-layered vocal chops.
Bringing his embellished performances to large-scale stages nationwide, including EDC Las Vegas, Sunset Music Festival, and Electric Forest, Champagne Drip has held nothing back this year. With Bass Canyon, North Coast (featuring a double-headline Champagne Drip ‘Comedown Set’), Nocturnal Wonderland, Lost Lands, Goldrush, Hulaween, and Lights All Night still on the horizon, the well-endowed producer sets his efforts towards his curated one-off events, ‘Champagne with Friends,’ so far announced at Mission Ballroom in Denver, CO [10/27] and Roseland Theater in his hometown of Portland, OR [11/18.]
Quote: “Energy Healing” is one of the first tracks I wrote after leaving LA and moving to Oklahoma. After going from such a fast-paced, “keep-up-or-get-left-behind” environment, I was able to slow down and be more present with myself, with my relationships, and with writing music, so that track is a product of total newfound inspiration. “Dream Dog,” ironically, came from a sunny afternoon spent in the backyard with my dog Indy. I wondered what the soundtrack to her life would sound like, and it resulted in that. The EP is really me coming home to myself.' - Champagne Drip

These five tracks tell a lucid story with tones and textures, AND nearly demand you move your body during each piece.
This EP calls between critical nodes of musical DNA that link together many of my favorite parts of the electronic scene.
Good for a party with that edgy energy, a firespin, or night drive! David Rees
If you like Ganja white night then you may like this as it is exactly the same as the rest of their stuff, a few uplifting bits and lots of wobble, very samey, maybe I need to listen to it more to apprechiate it? resonantconciousness
I can't stop listening to this album. It's so good. So many different amazing songs. Yheti can turn such small amounts of time into massive complex journeys. Signals from above grew on me over time a great deal and I think that is always a special and mysterious thing. voidhaven
I don't need the members of any community discarded and body othered as a bitch, thanks of the trees for helping me realize there's no point in bass music that I need to hear someone slip the word into my eardrum. cya. BeatsaNdBuds
